Developer picked for £100m homes deal

Countryside Properties is set to develop a £100 million mixed-use development on Horsted Way in Chatham, Medway.

The development, which will include 411 residential units, will consist of 110 two- to four-bedroom houses and 301 one- and two-bedroom apartments. 25 per cent of these will be affordable housing.

Located on the site of the existing Mid Kent College, which will be relocating to a new facility at Gillingham, the development will also provide 33,500 sq ft of commercial space.

Vacant possession and completion of the new College is expected in late 2009 and, subject to approval, a start on site at Horsted is expected in early 2010.
