Devon council advertises £18m road work

Devon County Council is looking for contractors to bid for an £18 million highway maintenance deal.

The framework contract will cover major highway structural maintenance works covering the whole of Devon. This will include carriageway surfacing and work on footways and paved areas, traffic signs and road markings.

Up to six bidders will be invited to tender for the job but it is expected that three firms will be picked for the deal with an annual work value of £2 million per contractor.

Work on the three year deal will start in April 2009 with completion due in 2012.

Firms have until 15 August to express an interest.
