Dock deal boosts PFA

PULVERISED fuel ash specialist Associated Ash Importers has signed a deal to ship its material into Howden port on the River Ouse, Yorkshire.

It has secured rights from port company PD Port Services to distribute PFA from a new facility at the centre.

PD Port will invest £400,000 in the distribution centre, which sits by the M62 and should be fully operational by November.

According to PD Port Services managing director Jerry Hopkinson, the deal will help cut road congestion.

He said: 'Road transport costs are rising due to congestion.'
