Dozen named in £80m housing framework win

Twelve contractors have won places on an £80m housing framework contract.

The contract has been let by the South East Consortium, a group of local authorities and social landlords which intends to build and refurbishment homes in the region over the coming three years.

Framework places were allocated 50/50 based on the quality and price of bids.

The successful companies were: DCB (Kent), Westridge Construction, Hilife Construction, Lakehouse Contracts, Cablesheer, Bonds Builders & Contractors, Mansell, Mulalley, Higgins Construction, Durkan, Rydon, Osborne.

The consortium was formed in 2005 as a joint procurement body for social housing construction and maintenance.

Its housing association members are: AmicusHorizon, Hexagon, Keniston, Moat, Russet, Town and Country, West Kent.

Local authority members are: Ashford, Basildon, Canterbury, Dover, Gravesham, Shepway, Thanet, Wealden.
