Drain brains

Contractor Alfred McAlpine is using £300,000-worth of plastic pipes to help drain a stretch of new highway it is building.

The contractor is using Rigidrain and Rigiduct systems from plastic pipe producer Polypipe on the project to build a new dual carriageway section of the A30, running between Bodmin and Indian Queens near Newquay, Cornwall.
