Dredging job in Cork

DREDGING International has clinched a major dredging contract on the Lee tunnel project in Cork, Irish Republic, for main contractor Tarmac/Walls.

The consortium won the main design and build contract for the tunnel and started work last year. Dredging International will start this spring and dredge a trench across the River Lee from the main Cork-Dublin-Waterford road to Blackrock.

In October, work will start on fitting the trench with seven prefabricated tunnel sections and filling it with 500,000 cu m of sand and gravel.
