DTI seeks strategy view

THE GOVERNMENT has called on the industry to map out of the future of its sustainable construction strategy.

In a consultation process launched by the DTI last week, it said that it wanted the industry to take advantage of an estimated £2.8 billion in potential savings every year through initiatives including renewable energy, waste minimisation and modern methods of construction.

Construction minister Alun Michael announced a review of sustainability strategy last year.

Industry bodies and firms have until the end of April to respond to the consultation.
