Duchy of Cornwall submits Newquay plan

The Duchy of Cornwall has submitted a planning application to Restormel Borough Council for phase two of the Newquay Growth Area.

Located on a 21-acre site to the east of the town the mixed-use scheme will include up to 200 new homes, office space, shops and roads.

The Duchy is still awaiting a decision on phase one, which comprises 300 homes, workspace and two new care homes.

A third development of 200 new homes at Tregunnel Hill in the town centre is also being looked at by the council’s planning office.

All three developments aim to control emissions by methods including generating energy on-site through biomass, using local materials wherever possible, reducing car use and minimising construction waste, energy use and water.
