Durkan nab apartment contract

Durkan has snapped up a £10 million contract for 64 apartments in Plaistow, east London for the London Development Agency and Tower Homes.

Work will include the redevelopment of Greengate House, a grade two listed YMCA building and the construction of a 36-space residents car park. The contract is scheduled to last 85 weeks.

Durkan’s managing director Robert Clark said: “The Greengate scheme will provide affordable housing in Plaistow while preserving a historically interesting building. We are very happy to be working with Tower Homes and the LDA to provide this much needed resource to the local area.”
