Emap buys Construction News

PUBLISHING group Emap has bought Construction News from the Thomson Corporation for 7.6 million.

Construction News, its supplements and associated directories, will be part of the Emap Construct division of Emap Business Communications.

Emap Construct is Britains biggest publisher of building and construction periodicals.

Its other publications include Architects Journal and Building Products, and it bought New Civil Engineer and the Thomas Telford specialist civil engineering magazines from the Institution of Civil Engineers in June.

Tim Brooks, managing director of Emap Construct, said: We are absolutely delighted to be the owners of Construction News, the biggest and most successful title in the construction market.

We are committed to developing and enhancing the service which Construction News provides for readers and advertisers in the construction industry.

Emap is one of Britains biggest publishing groups, with extensive interests in regional newspapers, consumer magazines, broadcast and electronic media in the UK and overseas. It publishes more than 150 business magazines and newspapers.
