Ennstone buys concrete firm

AGGREGATES company Ennstone has continued its long-term buying spree and splashed out over £1 million on an Aberdeen-based ready mixed concrete supplier.

Its Scottish arm, Ennstone Thistle, completed the purchase of Inverurie-based supplier and contractor JH Connon last week.

All 54 staff will be transferred to the Ennstone group. The £5 million a year turnover company will continue trading as JH Connon but as a division of Ennstone Thistle.

Vaughan McLeod, Ennstone chairman, said: 'This is another good bolt-on acquisition that will strengthen our ready mixed concrete and contracting business in Scotland.'
