Ensor pretax profits up 21pc

Building materials and tools company Ensor said its pretax profits rocketed 21 per cent to £943,000 for the half year to September 30 2007.

The company’s sales were up 12 per cent from £14 million to £15.7 million.

Ensor's divisions include CMS tools, which provides specialist tools to the roofing industry, and Ensor Building Products, which provides draining and roofing products. The company also makes electric doors and motors.

Ensor said it had been hit by the weakness in the US dollar, but the second half of the year had started strongly.
