Eon £13m Camster wind farm to go ahead

Eon has received planning consent for a £13 million Camster wind farm in Caithness.

The proposed wind farm, located between Lybster and Watten, will have 25 turbines and be capable of producing up to 50MW, or enough power for up to 35,000 homes.

It has received final approval from the Highland Council after a four year planning process.

It will also contribute considerably to the Scottish Government's Renewable Energy Targets of 31 per cent by 2011 and 50 per cent by 2020.
