EST reviews micropower

MATERIALS

THE ENERGY Savings Trust is to produce a report on the role of small-scale power generation as part of the government's consultation on its 'Microgeneration strategy and low carbon buildings programme.' Microgeneration includes techniques such as solar panels, small-scale wind turbines and fuel cells. The review will assess current market barriers and identify cost effective ways to foster these technologies.

'Micropower appliances are energy-efficient and most release no carbon dioxide, ' said EST chief Philip Sellwood.
