Euro safety move

TRADES Union Congress representatives are to meet with Construction Confederation officials tomorrow (Friday) to see whether the organisations can work together to force a change in Europe's health and safety laws. TUC safety director Owen Tudor said the TUC had been worried for some time that firms guilty of breaching health and safety law in the UK could avoid punishment by leaving the country. He said he asked for the meeting after he read in Construction News about the confederation's campaign to force the European Parliament to change European rules.
