Family team lays 2 millionth brick

TROWELS about that, then - father and son team Tony and Dale Freeston have chalked up a new record after laying their two millionth brick.

Mortar the point, 69-year-old Tony is hoping to carry on laying for another 10 years so he can retire at the same time as his son.

The pair work for house builder Barratt all over the east Midlands. They have built more than 280 houses between them.

Tony started in the trade back in the 1950s before Dale, 40, joined him in 1981.

Both joined Barratt in 1989 and are currently based at the firm's Bracebridge Gardens development at Lincoln. They have worked there since its first day - more than 10 years ago - and will be the last to leave when it comes to a conclusion later this year.

Tony said: 'We make a great team - and we reckon we have laid our two millionth brick.'
