Fire destroys Glasgow construction site

A block of flats under construction in the south west of Glasgow was destroyed by fire early this morning.

Firefighters from the Pollok station were called to the site, in Arden, around 12.30pm.

The incident is the third construction site fire in Scotland over the past three months.

Locals were advised to stay in their homes after wind drove the smoke through the suburb.

Both Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and the police are investigating the blaze.
