Firm steers clear of running own fleet

LETTERS

Sir, Further to your article regarding the Bobcat T300 skid steer loader (Construction News, January 9), I feel I must write to correct your quoted comment: 'The firm's dealers all run their own skid steer hire fleets.'

As the largest Bobcat dealership in the country covering the south of England, we do not run a hire fleet because we feel it unethical to be in competition with our customers.

Leach Lewis Plant has maintained this policy for some years, since selling our fleet in 1989.

We will continue to invest in service and back-up in order to work with our customers rather than hire against them.
