Firms plan to invest more in new technology

CONSTRUCTION companies are set to pump more cash into their IT systems over the next three years.

A survey of 5,000 firms by the recently formed IT Construction Forum showed 42 per cent of companies were preparing to increase their investment in new technology.

The forum was launched last week as IT Construction Best Practice formally joined forces with Constructing Excellence.

Constructing Excellence chief executive Dennis Lenard said: 'To hear that companies are seeking to introduce new working practices through investing in IT is highly encouraging and this is a positive move in providing a better service to clients, running a more efficient business and ultimately becoming more profitable.'

The forum is launching a news service called 'Ask the Experts' as a source of advice from IT specialists for contractors.
