Five selected for Aberdeenshire capital works

Aberdeenshire Council has announced five main contractors for its capital works programme.

Morrison Construction, Robertson Construction, Lend Lease, Miller Construction and FMP have been named on the Main Contractor Work’s Framework, with the Mearns Academy set to be the first procurement with construction on site in the summer.

Chair of the policy & resources committee, Cllr Anne Robertson said: “We are delighted to be moving forward with the framework and have five excellent contractors who have a proven track record of project delivery.

“The development of our capital plan is an important milestone on the road to delivering major building projects over the next three years which will play an important role in our communities for decades to come. The appointment of these five main contractors is the first step in helping us realise these plans.”

The three-year framework will consider the further procurement of works covering replacement and upgraded schools, care homes and various infrastructure projects valued at over £200 million.
