The proposed scheme – 5 Olympic Way – comprises a 225-bed hotel, 16,000 sq ft of commercial space, plus 195 residential units incorporated in a high-rise element rising to 24-storeys.
The land acquisition is the first one made in the UK by the Cork based Fleming Group, parent company to FDUK. Iain Thayne, chief executive said: “Acquisition of the 5 Olympic Way site underlines the commitment of the Fleming Group to expand its operation and address the potential market opportunities offered in the UK.”
The scheme has been designed by HTA Architects to create an new urban quarter that links with the wider vision for regeneration as set out in the Wembley Masterplan. If planning permission is granted for 5 Olympic Way, the project is expected to be completed towards the end of 2010.
