Outgoing general secretary George Brumwell made one of his last public speeches as boss of Ucatt last week when he helped unveil two stained glass windows at the union's London headquarters. Chancellor Gordon Brown was on hand to perform the opening ceremony for the windows, which commemorate the contribution made to the UK by construction workers.Mr Brumwell steps down next month after nearly 13 years in charge.He will be replaced by Alan Ritchie.
