Four councils to receive roads funding

Four councils are set to benefit from a share in an £8 million Government grant to improve road safety.

The county councils in Northamptonshire, Devon, Lincolnshire and Norfolk will receive £1.5 million each to spend on road engineering, enforcement and education.

An additional £2 million will also be distributed between the four councils three other participating authorities later in the three-year Rural Road Safety Demonstration Project.
