Four vying for £35m college job

FOUR firms are squaring up for the second phase of a £35 million deal to redevelop a further education college in Coventry.

HBG, Galliford Try, Leadbitter and Kier subsidiary Moss are all going for the deal that will see a six-storey education block built at the new Sandwell campus for the City College.

Moss is building the first part of the project, which will feature a technology block known as the Learning Quarter.

The second phase of the work, valued at £16 million, will include extra education buildings plus a library, restaurant and office facilities.

A winner will be appointed in the next month, with a start on site planned for January.
