Galliford Try buys mobile phone surveyor

Galliford Try has strengthened its presence in the telecoms sector with the acquisition of chartered surveyor Pentland for £1.1 million.
Pentland specialises in site acquisition and town and country planning services to the mobile phone industry. It has four offices based in Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Gloucester.

Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald said: 'As

capacity requirements are expected to rise as the use of 3G increases, the

acquisition of Pentland enables us to further extend and enhance the services we

offer.'

The contractor and housebuilder is paying cash for the firm, and could pay out a further £1.7million subject to achieving future profits.
