GAP group opens five new depots

SMALL plant and tool hirer GAP group plans to open five depots in the next six months, taking its UK tally to 50.

Depots at Inverness and Maidstone will open in November and one in the strategically important Oxford area will start up in February. On-site facilities at Colchester and Worthing will follow.

The Colchester depot will serve Sir Robert McAlpine with a range of tools and non-operated plant for the firm's £2 billion Colchester Garrison job, as well as serving the local area, while the Worthing depot will serve Minerva Accord's A27 highway improvements.

Joint managing director Douglas Anderson said: 'While we now have a national presence since the opening of our Portsmouth depot in April, we still have a few gaps to fill.'
