Giant tower crane debut

GERMAN crane manufacturer Terex-Peiner has launched a mammoth tower crane incorporating a jib that extends up to 80 m.

The saddle-jibbed SK575, with a maximum lifting capacity of 32 tonnes (4.1 tonnes at full extension) is aimed at applications requiring high lifting power, such as stadiums and power plants.

The maximum free standing height is 82 m and Peiner says the upper section is retrofittable to its TS213 masts. An onboard computer communicates faults to the offsite service department.
