Giants 'will rejoin MCG'


MAJOR Contractors Group chairman John Spanswick said he still expects big names like Carillion and Balfour Beatty to return to the lobbying body.

The Bovis Lend Lease chairman was appointed to the post 12 months ago and vowed to bring back major companies.

Other firms outside the MCG are Amec and Laing O'Rourke, although Costain retu rned to the fold last year.

Mr Spanswick said: 'I am in regular dialogue with other senior players to persuade them of the benef its of the MCG.

'Over the last three years the MCG has made a bigger contribution on the safety agenda than any other industry body.'
