Gibbs & Dandy nails Timber deal

Builders' merchant Gibbs & Dandy has bought Northamptonshire firm Timber Force UK for £1.5 million.
Gibbs & Dandy, based in Luton, Bedfordshire, has made the move to strengthen its regional presence in the south Midlands.

The acquisition brings its total number of branches to 10.

It has paid £1.48 million in cash for the Kettering company, with an additional £250,000 for net assets. Timber Force turned over £2.25 million in the year to August 2004.

Gibbs & Dandy has also paid £1.05 million for Timber Force's Kettering headquarters.
