Gifford scoops five education projects

Engineering consultant Gifford has been appointed building design engineer on five education sector projects in northern England.

These include a £60 million new build facility for Bolton Community College and Bolton Sixth Form College sited in the town’s 'educational quarter'. A £45 million new build Wakefield City Centre College which is to be part of the town’s regeneration plans, and a £45 million extension at Oldham College in Central Oldham.

Further education projects in Stockport and Wakefield are also underway.

Director of Gifford’s Manchester office Steve Bentley said: “We are active in all areas of education in the North West with major projects for universities in Liverpool and Manchester and we are part of the design team on the Manchester ‘Building schools for the future’ programme.

"We have won this group of exciting new projects because of our considerable experience in the education sector and track record of improving the performance of modern buildings through intelligent engineering design."
