Girls put off

Young women are being put off traditionally maledominated industries like construction, a survey by sector skills council ConstructionSkills has found. More than twothirds of 2,400 11 to 18year-old girls surveyed felt there was a gender bias against girls in the careers advice they were given. The organisation is launching a new TV advertising campaign to attract young women to jobs in construction and the built environment.
