Glouchestershire set for £10m flood fund

Transport minister Rosie Winterton has confirmed Gloucestershire County Council will receive £10.048 million to help repair roads and bridges damaged by floods.

The Department for Transport has been working closely with local authorities in affected regions to assess claims and the funds are part of a £85 million support package to help flood-hit communities following last summer’s floods.

Ms Winterton said: “We are committed to continuing this work as well as providing the support necessary to carry out repairs.”

If further claims are submitted for flood repair funding by councils they will be assessed separately.
