Govt scheme calls for construction to lead way in CSR

Industry body Constructing Excellence is calling on construction to lead the way in adopting social and environmentally responsible practices.
CE deputy chief executive Rodger Evans said the organisation wants to encourage construction companies to adopt such practices as a core business strategy.

Mr Evans said: 'Corporate social responsibility must not merely be seen as an 'add on'. Sector players must not only adopt values and principles, but take the next step in embedding and integrating it into their organisation and that of their partners.

'Corporate social responsibility is all about recognising the positive impact that construction can have in communities, and optimising the benefits for all stakeholders.'
