Green Mac lay-off alert

ALL STAFF at McNicholas Construction have been put on redundancy alert as the restructuring of the cash-strapped company continues.

A source at the firm's Elstree headquarters said: 'We have all been told we are entering a period of redundancy consultation.'

Green Macs is now in the hands of corporate restructuring specialist Martin May, who was appointed chief executive by the McNicholas family when the firm faced its present financial crisis.

A company spokesman said: 'This is part of the process and we are identifying people who want to take voluntary redundancy or early retirement.'

A complete restructuring of the company is due to be announced by the end of April.
