BUILDERS merchant Wolseley is to open a distribution centre devoted to supplying contractors with sustainable building products.

It unveiled plans to build a £3 million Sustainable Building Center next to its Leamington Spa headquarters last week.

The centre will showcase sustainable, energy-efficient and recycled building products and provide visitors with data on the latest materials.

Wolseley UK manag ing director Adrian Barden said: 'The construction industry must contribute to a more sustainable future.'

Work is due to start on site later this month, with completion in summer 2007.
