HA lifts towns building restrictions

East Devon District Council has been given the go-ahead to build 700 homes near Cranbrook, Exeter as part of the first phase of a new town.

Until today the Highways Agency placed a restriction on the number of new homes that could be built in the area because of improvement works planned for J29 of the M5.

The new town will now be able to accommodate 2,900 properties.

It is also one of the towns proposed to receive one of Network Rail's prefabricated stations.
