Hanson boss Patrick O'Shea appointed MPA chairman

Hanson UK chief executive Patrick O’Shea has today become chairman of the Mineral Products Association.

Mr O’Shea will be in the role for the next two years taking over from Lynda Chase-Gardener who was chairman of the MPA since its inception in March 2009.

Ms Chase-Gardener previously led the Quarry Products Association for four years as chairman, before the MPA was formed.

The decision reflects the board’s desire to change the way it operates by rotating the chairmanship amongst board members over time.

Mr O’Shea paid tribute to the contribution made by his predecessor to both the MPA, and formerly the QPA.
