Happy not to holiday

DESK-BOUND construction bosses are not taking their allotted holidays and would happily swap them for cash or benefits, according to research published by the Chartered Management Institute.

The study of 112 workers in the construction sector found 94 per cent were not using their full holiday allowance.

A third of respondents said they were concerned deadlines would not be met and 21 per cent find it hard to 'let go'.

More than a fifth said they were able to exchange days off for cash.
