LIFTING gear specialist Certex UK has launched a safety harness range that has been designed with the help of an osteopath.
The harness on the Checkmate Professional range has been stitched into an ordinary jacket, which prevents it being worn incorrectly.
The harness has an extra strap, which acts as a seat, to relieve pressure on the leg loops, together with a wide back strap and chest and abdominal straps.
Designer Dr Jon Leigh said: 'If a safety harness is to be comfortable, it must fit well and not apply pressure to the user when worn in its passive role.'
The strap is designed to avoid the wearer pitching out of the harness when falling.
The makers also said it prevents soft tissue injuries caused by sudden descent and abrupt arrest.
