Haymills set for Royal Ballet refurb

Contracts - RICHMOND

HAYMILLS is in negotiations on a £22 million deal to refurbish the Royal Ballet School in west London.

The firm has just secured the first phase of the deal at Richmond, which is valued at £4.3 million and will include student accommodation blocks and a four-bedroomed detached house for the principal.

The school is in negotiations with the regional contractor for the final phase of the four-year planned redevelopment works at the lower school.

This stage will comprise work to improve the current buildings and includes extending the dining hall.

Work on the school is set to start later this year, with completion scheduled for 2010.
