Higgins wins Middlesex school extension

Higgins Construction has been appointed to build a new £7 million arts centre for the Lady Eleanor Holles School in Middlesex.

The work is due to start on site in July and will involve both new build and refurbishment works at the existing school site.

The project will provide new classrooms and a theatre to the Independent School based in Hampton, Middlesex.

The 97-week construction period will be split across two phases:

  • Phase one, commencing in July 2011: the new art and music departments and theatre
  • Phase two: commencing on the completion of phase one with completion expected at the end of the academic year 2012-13: refurbished drama department, including second drama studio; refurbished dining hall; new lower sixth common room; and additional classrooms
