Highways Agency sounds alarm over bogus workmen

The Highways Agency has issued a fresh warning to householders in Cornwall to beware of bogus workmen claiming they are agency contractors.
Last year workers using fake Highways Agency branded vehicles approached householders in the Bodmin area of Dorset offering to resurface their driveways. Now the Highways Agency is warning that another vehicle has been seen in the area.

HA assistant route performance manager Helen Philips said: 'Neither the HA or its contractors would undertake this form of private work and we would not approach householders in this way Anyone who is approached in similar circumstances should contact the police or Trading Standards.'
