Highways maintenance contractors sought for £90m framework

Hertfordshire County Council has begun its search for highways maintenance contractors for work worth up to £90 million under three lots.

Under the highways structural maintenance and surface treatments framework agreement, contractors will be required for construction work for pipelines, communication and power lines on highways, roads, airfields and railways.

Work will also include building demolition, wrecking and earthmoving work; repair, maintenance and associated services related to roads and other equipment.

Lot 1: Carriageway and footway surface treatments. Including surface dressing or micro asphalt, footway micro asphalt or slurry sealing. Estimated value between £11.5m and £43m.

Lot 2: Carriageway resurfacing. Plane and inlay or overlay work, works to surface course and/or binder course and/or lower layers. Estimated value between £10.5m and £38.5m.

Lot 3: General civil engineering. Estimated value between £2.25m and £8m.
