THE HIGHWAYS Agency has drawn up tender lists for three packages worth up to £511 million in its third tranche of Managing Agent Contractor contracts.

The agency is understood to have picked InterRoute (Raynesway/Mott MacDonald), Networx (Morrison), Carillion, AM Scott (Alfred McAlpine/ Scott Wilson) and May Gurney/Hyder to bid for the area 12 MAC contract across Yorkshire. The deal lasts between five and seven years at an annual value of £23 to £33 million.

Networx is also bidding for the area 13 deal covering Lancashire and Cumbria. Amec/ Stenoak, AmeyMouchel, Nuttall and an unknown fifth contender make up the remaining bidders for the £15-£24 million deal. The contract is also for five years with the possibility of a two-year extension.

Colas/Halcrow, Accord and Ringway are bidding for the £12-16 million area 14 contract.

Tenders went out in the North East last week and must be returned in three months.
