Hire boss buys former firm's fleet

PLANT

THE former managing director of Gravesend hirer Alpha Plant has bought the skid steer business from his old employers to set up on his own hire company.

Paul Rolfe has formed Versatile Loaders, based in Southfleet, Kent, with a fleet of Thomas skidsteers and 14 attachments from patch planers to breakers and sweepers. Versatile has also become an authorised dealer.

Mr Rolfe claimed the Thomas machines were ideally suited to harsh environments.

He said: 'It's an educational process for the industry to realise how many applications they can be used for.'
