HKR takes Boddingtons Brewery deal

HKR Architects will design the first phase of the redevelopment of the Boddingtons Brewery site in Manchester.

The 7.3ha plant, controversially closed in 2005 when beer production was moved to South Wales, is being redeveloped by Ask Developments and Realty Estates under a masterplan drawn up by HOK.

The £250 million scheme will feature a 20-storey tower, public square, 480 new homes, a college and a series of low-rise five to eight storey mixed-use blocks.
