Holleran Mouchel Parkman wins sewage contract

Southern Water has appointed contractors Holleran Mouchel Parkman to install 1.5km of sewers for 30 properties in Stone Cross, East Sussex, can be connected to the main drainage system.

The £1.3 million scheme will mean the homes will have their waste water taken away and treated.

Currently most of the properties in the villages are served by private sewerage facilities in the form of cesspools or septic tanks, which need to be maintained and emptied regularly to protect the environment.

The project is expected to be completed by January 2009.
