Honours for Bolsover, Clarke and Head

Aggregate Industries chairman Bill Bolsover and WS Atkins chief executive Keith Clarke have been honoured by the Queen for their services to the construction industry.

Both men have been awarded CBEs, along with Arup director Peter Head, who was been recognised for his services to civil engineering and the environment.

Professor Nicholas Tyler, head of department and Chadwick Professor of civil engineering at University College London has been awarded a CBE for services to technology.

Trevor George Hursthouse, chairman of the Specialist Engineering Contractors’ Group, has been given an OBE for his services to the construction industry. An OBE has also been awarded to Orla Corr, director of the McAvoy Group for services to the building industry.

John Murphy, former chair of the Safety Schemes in Procurement Forum, has been honoured for his services to health and safety in the construction industry with an MBE.

Professor Ian Walsh, a senior consultant at Road Consultants and the editor and co-author of Road Design and Maintenance, is to receive an MBE for services to highway engineering.
