Hospice submits plans for new HQ

St Barnabas House hospice has submitted plans to Worthing Borough Council for a £9 million headquarters on the outskirts of the town.

The new complex would be built on more than five acres of land at Lower Northbrook Farm, West Durrington and would resemble the hub and spokes of a wheel.

It could cater for 22 patients, compared to 15 in the current facility and would include a daycare centre, consultants’ rooms and outpatients’ services.

If the plans are approved then it is hoped the new centre would be ready in 2010.
