Hospital fear

CONTRACTS

Fears are growing that the £240 million Derriford Hospital PFI contract will be dumped as the June decision deadline approaches. Ferrovial, which owns Amey, was left as a sole bidder after groups featuring Multiplex and Hochtief dropped out. Several industry sources have said the unofficial word from the Department of Health is that the scheme will be rescoped and readvertised.

Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust said it will make a decision this month.
